Blinkzy

Protect your eyes

Gentle blink reminders that keep your eyes healthy all day

3-day free trial · one purchase · no subscription

75% fewer blinks at a screen

Your eyes are suffering in silence

You normally blink 15–20 times per minute. But staring at a screen drops that to just 3–4 times — a 75% reduction. Blinkzy sends gentle visual reminders that retrain your natural blink reflex, keeping your eyes hydrated and healthy throughout the day.

Your eyes can't remind themselves. Blinkzy can.

Getting Blinkzy onto your phone

Part 1 — Install the app

  1. Tap “Download APK” above. If your browser warns about the file, choose “Download anyway” — it is safe.
  2. Open the file: tap the download notification, or find the Blinkzy .apk in your Files or Downloads app.
  3. The first time, Android asks to allow this source. Tap Settings, turn on “Allow from this source”, then go back.
  4. Tap Install. If Play Protect warns, tap “Install anyway” — this is normal for apps outside the Play Store. Then tap Open.

Part 2 — Set it up (about a minute)

Blinkzy draws its reminders over whatever is on your screen, so Android needs your permission first. Blinkzy opens a setup screen the first time you launch it and takes you through each step.

  1. Display over other apps — tap the button on the setup screen, switch Blinkzy on, then come back. Without this the reminders cannot appear.
  2. Battery optimisation — tap Disable Optimization and allow it, or Android may stop Blinkzy in the background after a while.
  3. Autostart — on Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme, Vivo, Huawei and OnePlus phones, also switch Blinkzy on in the Autostart list so it keeps running after a restart.
  4. Tap Start Using Blinkzy and turn the switch on. Your 3-day free trial begins here — no account, no card.

While Blinkzy is running it keeps a small notification in your status bar. Android requires this of every app that works in the background, and you can pause Blinkzy straight from it.

Something not working?
Play Protect says “unsafe app blocked”
Tap More details, then Install anyway. Play Protect shows this for every app that does not come from Google Play — it has not found anything wrong with Blinkzy.
It says “App not installed”
Usually a half-finished download or an older Blinkzy still on the phone. Delete the .apk, download it again, and uninstall any earlier version first.
My phone uses different wording
Samsung says “Install unknown apps”, Pixel says “Allow from this source”, Xiaomi says “Install from unknown sources”. It is the same setting, listed under the browser or Files app you opened the file with.
Blinkzy stops on its own after a while
That is battery optimisation or autostart. Open Blinkzy, go to Settings → Device Setup Guide, and finish any step still marked “Needed”.
Where do I enter my licence key?
On Blinkzy’s main screen, tap the trial button at the bottom, paste the key from your email, and tap Activate.

Opening on macOS the first time

  1. Download the .dmg, open it, and drag Blinkzy into your Applications folder.
  2. Open Blinkzy from Applications. macOS blocks it the first time — click Done.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the Blinkzy message, then confirm. You only need to do this once — macOS shows it because Blinkzy isn’t from the App Store.

Opening on Windows the first time

  1. Download and run the .msi installer.
  2. If a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen appears, click More info.
  3. Click Run anyway, then follow the installer. This is standard for apps from outside the Microsoft Store.
